When I announced the performer lineup for the 2019 “ShipRocked” Cruise (seen HERE), a lot of Metalheads were wondering just what in the heck was going on with the announcement for the 2019 “70K Tons Of Metal” excursion since that usually came up in July. Well, as the saying goes “it’s better late than never” as the first details and bands have been lined out. Read on down below.
The Announcement:
60 Bands, 4 Days, 1 Cruise Ship, and only 3000 Tickets. This is 70000TONS OF METAL™, The Original, The World’s Biggest Heavy Metal Cruise!
On 70000TONS OF METAL™ you get unrestricted festival access to all 120 live shows on board, 70000TONS™ OF KARAOKE until sunrise, Jamming With Waters In International Waters – the Official 70000TONS OF METAL™ All Star Jam which writes Heavy Metal History every year, Clinics and Work-Shops with the musicians, our infamous Belly Flop Contest, Shore Excursions with your favorite artists, and much more!
Everyone on board is a VIP, we don’t have assigned seating (this is a Heavy Metal Cruise after all), and most importantly the bars on our ship never close – you heard us, bars that never close!
On this life changing adventure you will spend five days and four nights at Sea mingling side-by-side with your favorite artists in this incredibly fan-friendly scenario that has no comparison. It’s having an All-Access backstage pass! The World’s Biggest Heavy #MetalCruise sets sail from Florida – Labadee and back on January 31 – February 4, 2019. PiercingMetal Thoughts: Right off the bat this looks to be a very promising trip and one lethal leisure cruise if I might coin a silly phrase. Now, sadly I must inform the masses that I have never been on one of these 70K trips, or any kind of musical cruise for that matter. These folks are notorious for leaking the intel about each and every band that signs on over on their Facebook Page and that means I will NOT be making “60” individual announcements to the readers of this website. I will periodically check on their pages as a reference material and add the bands that I see as new inclusions up in the section just above. I will also link to their individual Websites or Official Facebook pages so you can click through to them and learn more about the band if they are new to you. Groups that have their names in “italics” will be the ones with the hyperlinks to their official website or Facebook page and I will try to keep on top of that since I don’t want “60” bands listed in the website links down below. Closing up I wonder what you think of the lineup so far and if you’ve ever been on one of these cruises. Chime in down below and let me know if you are hitting the high seas with some of the heaviest Metal known to mortal man (and woman). See you next time.
Update: (January 30th, 2019) Since the time that I first posted this announcement, I’ve checked back on the Official Site and Facebook for the event in order to update all of the bands that were announced. I’ve also made sure to link to their respective pages or branded Facebooks (and wow what a tedious undertaking that was). If you’re heading out on this grand adventure you should click some of the links so you are more aware of the kind of bands there are and to see if you like some more than others. Sure there are some legendary names but there are also quite a few that might find you scratching your chin. I’ve also secured the Running Order of the performances along the cruise and they can be observed HERE. I’ll be like-bombing those accounts who are posting to Instagram for sure and as our Metal Metropolis stands to drop to sub-zero temperatures today and tomorrow with some snowstorms I am fairly certain that I hate all of you (just kidding, I really don’t). So who’s going? Chime in down below in the comments.
