I know this sounds horrible to say out loud but with “Avengers: Endgame” only nine days away from being released, I don’t know a single solitary comic book movie fan who is discussing the final 20th Century Fox big screen X-Men release “Dark Phoenix”. Now, perhaps there are some of you new arrivals to the planet who don’t know about either film, so if you click HERE you will see the “Avengers: Endgame” posts while THIS LINK will bring you to any of the “Dark Phoenix” stuff. Since we’ve begun sharing news about this movie, Marvel’s purchase of 20th Century Fox has gone through and eventually we will see a lot of X-Men interplay in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Cool your jets though because this isn’t going to happen overnight. This film was supposed to be released in February but now that is happening in June and the Final Trailer has just been released. I’ve embedded it here for you below along with the premise, casting and the Theatrical Poster. Let’s take a look shall we.

The Premise: After the events of X-Men: Apocalypse, the X-Men face their most formidable and powerful foe: one of their own, Jean Grey. During a rescue mission in space, Jean is nearly killed when she is hit by a mysterious cosmic force. Once she returns home, this force not only makes her infinitely more powerful, but far more unstable. Wrestling with this entity inside her, Jean unleashes her powers in ways she can neither comprehend nor contain. With Jean spiraling out of control, and hurting the ones she loves most, she begins to unravel the very fabric that holds the X-Men together. Now, with this family falling apart, they must find a way to unite – not only to save Jean’s soul, but to save our very planet from aliens who wish to weaponize this force and rule the galaxy.

PiercingMetal Thoughts: Boy. Is it just me or did they show a whole LOT of major parts of this film? I don’t think that its just me at all. Anyway, this does look better than some of the advance reports have said and as we’ve already noted this is a send off to the 20th Century Fox X-Men franchise. I think I read that “New Mutants” will be direct to the Disney+ streaming service and that one looked terrible anyway so who cares if it even comes out. The Final Trailer is the “Endgame” for Fox and no time travel is going to change that. Bring me the reboots. So tell me readers do you still plan on seeing this one? Chime in down below.
