New Year’s Music Resolutions For 2013: Part 2

Hey there readers and welcome back to the presentation of “New Year’s Music Resolutions for 2013″; I am really glad that you are joining us along for the series because it’s such a blast giving everyone a look inside the thoughts of these musical people. I’ll stop talking now and let you get right into it since there are many more chapters for me to share additional opinions with you. Have at it.

1. Joel Hoekstra (Night Ranger/Trans-Siberian Orchestra/Rock Of Ages): My 2013 New Year’s Music Resolution is to CONTINUE to work as hard as possible and appreciate every second of the best job on planet Earth!…and meeting Angus Young would be bad ass :)

2. Tim Roth (Into Eternity): My New Year’s Metal Resolution for 2013 would be, to continue my daily listening, of the latest Yngwie J. Malmsteen album entitled, “Spellbound”. I think we all could learn a lesson or two about the relentless drive, that Yngwie has towards pushing the envelope of Neo-Classical Metal. I vow also, to continue to teach my 4 year old son, Lucca Jacob Yngwie Roth, the ways of the Jedi Shred Legend that is and only could be, Yngwie J. Malmsteen! In addition, I would like to spend more time on PiercingMetal.com and I’d love to see my musical group, Into Eternity, head back to Europe AND release our long overdue 6th album.

3. Frankie Banali (Quiet Riot): 2013 marks the 30th anniversary of the release of “Metal Health” and I plan to continue to bring the music of QUIET RIOT to the fans and to keep the memory of Kevin DuBrow alive and well through the music that he and I never took for granted and have so much pride in. That is my singular New Year’s Music Resolution for 2013.

A Piercing Discussion with Stu Block & Tim Roth of Into Eternity

By the time I conducted this interview I think that I had seen the guys in Into Eternity open up the shows for no less than eleven bands. I might be off a number or two but the bottom line is that I have seen them do their thing alot and am glad to be one of their Metal Media supporters. The band was doing a co-headlining tour with EdGuy and was appearing at B.B. King Blues Club, where they were certainly no strangers to the stage. Before the show I was able to get some talk time out of singer Stu Bloch and lead guitarist Tim Roth, the entire fun and interesting discussion can be read by clicking their logo below.

A Piercing Discussion with Into Eternity’s Tim Roth

A couple of years ago when I went to see Amorphis, the band that was opening up the whole show was called Into Eternity and they were excellent. I became a quick study of their debut and the at the time newest release “Buried in Oblivion” and began my ardent support of their efforts. The hectic touring schedule that the band lives day to day found me doing this interview with founding guitarist Tim Roth via email. Dream Theater in Concert (8/2007)

You cannot help but be awed by the band Dream Theater who are still delivering quality Progressive Metal after two decades in the business. Their latest album was called “Systematic Chaos” and the tour to support it featured both Redemption and Into Eternity. We made our way to the PNC Bank Arts Center to see it and should you want to know more just click the logo below to be brought to our item on the main PiercingMetal.com site.

In the main concert article I reference how the show while excellent did not seem to draw as many people as I expected for a band of this kind.  Those I mentioned this to did not believe me so I wanted to show exactly what I meant.   I didn’t think this was as much a reflection on the band as much as it was the close of summer and the drawing closer of school as well as their hometown Long Island show taking place only days apart from this one.

We took this photo just before the DT set and really were amazed as we had never seen the venue like this before.

Gamma Ray in Concert (5/2006)

In the realm of Power Metal greatness there are few musicians respected as much as guitarist/singer Kai Hansen. He was once a member of the band Helloween and eventually formed his own project that has been knocking down the walls for the genre since. Tonight the band would be performing at B.B. King’s and bringing along Into Eternity, a band that I have also begun to develop a fondness for. Click the logo below to be taken to our article on the main PiercingMetal.com site.

Stratovarius in Concert (9/21/2005)

Tonight would be the first ever appearance of Stratovarius in NYC and they would be performing their gig at the B.B. King Blues Club venue with Into Eternity as their direct support. I was eager to see both and made sure to get photos and thoughts on each of the performers in my memory banks. To read that piece just click the logo below to be taken to our article on the main PiercingMetal.com site. We hope you enjoy it.
