The “Summer Slaughter” Tour is a yearly event that brings something of a festival environment to the indoor stages of venues around the country and it clocks in at a usual ten bands per gig for a relatively affordable price.  That means its a great way to absorb a wide variety of Metal and gives the listeners a lot to investigate when they get home.  This year’s event would be headlined by Decapitated who had direct support from both The Faceless and All Shall Perish.  The massive event also featured The Red Chord, Veil Of Maya, Decrepit Birth, Animals As Leaders, Carnifex, Cephalic Carnage and Vital Remains.  Whew.  This was surely going to be a lot to absorb so click the logo below to be taken to the main PiercingMetal.com site and the full report along with all of its photos.  Then come back and scroll down to see some other moments that are only shared in the blog leader for it.

It’s been far too many years since Atheist had toured and now fans of the Technical Thrash Metal outfit have cause for celebration as the band returns to deliver their musical message as only they can.   The Metal innovators would be supporting a live release entitled “Unquestionable Presence: Live At Wacken/Pieces Of Time (1988/1993)” and give NYC fans a rousing show that also featured Gnostic, Psyopus and The Faceless.  The Agonist were also scheduled to appear on this bill tonight but ran into transportation issues that caused them to cancel.   Despite the surprising change we were on point to bring the entire evening to the readers.  Please click the logo below to be taken to our article on the main PiercingMetal.com site.  We discussed and photographed all performers.

Yeah so Meshuggah was here when Ministry did their “final tour” but the set was so damned short that it was almost pointless to go if you attended purely to see them.  That made a full on headlining gig with the legendary Cynic some good Metal medicine for the bands loyal followers.  Toss in The Faceless as well and you have a great night of music without question.  We were on point for this show and if you click the bands logo below you will be taken to the article on the main PiercingMetal.com site.

They were calling this event the “Summer Slaughter Tour” and it was most certainly that since it found a headlining Black Dahlia Murder supported by the likes of Vader, Kataklysm, & Cryptopsy. The whole affair also featured the might of The Aborted, Whitechapel, The Faceless, Despised Icon and Psycroptic and that was enough to find us at the ready with camera in hand. Drummer Flo Mounier (Cryptopsy) is one of the top skin bashers in Metal’s legions, we caught him warming up on some practice pads just before he was set to go on and keep fans jaws dropped open with his technical expertise.
