2012 finds the band Kittie celebrating sixteen years of Metal existence in terms of touring, music and just making an impact on the lives of their ardent fans and tonight their tour would hit New York City. The package would also feature Blackguard, The Agonist and Bonded By Blood and would continue to support the girls latest release “I’ve Failed You”, their sixth full-length album. Having enjoyed Kittie in concert over the last few years of running this PiercingMetal site, I opted to check them out as opposed to seeing Destruction or Steel Panther who both had gigs in very close proximity. To see how the show went down just click the bands logo below, but then come back to the blog to enjoy some of the side images that I am only presenting in the blog posting.

Kittie in Concert (3/23/2010)
It seemed like only yesterday when Kittie came a calling to New York City, and in all actuality it was back in September if my Metal memory serves me correctly and yet despite this very recent visit, one cannot be anything less than pleased when these Canadian Metal chicks want to help make March Metal Madness all the more special by visiting us once again. They were doing the equivalent of a co-headlining tour with God Forbid and depending on where the show was taking place would swap the lead off spot every now and again. The show also featured Gwen Stacy and if you want to see the full concert report you can just click their logo below to be taken to the article on the main PiercingMetal.com site. We also recommend that you scroll further down this blog post to enjoy some additional candid moments and images that are only presented here from this very night.
Kittie in Concert (9/2009)
Even though I was not all that into them when they started out, I have made up for lost time in supporting the albums of Kittie and the shows that they do when they pay a visit to NYC. I’ve come to realize just how hard the ladies work at both giving you a solid slab of Metal music along with an entertaining show so when they booked a gig at B.B. King Blues Club I was surely going to be there. This evening they would bring along Soil as the direct support and I had heard them before and also choose both Arkaea and Straight Line Stitch to do some opening band damage. We arrived nice and early to absorb and photograph the whole roster of bands and you can enjoy more by clicking the logo below as it will take you to the article on the main PiercingMetal.com site.
The fans love the girls and Morgan Lander seems to inspire a lot of them based on how much ass she kicks on stage. They even give her presents at the shows and here we see the lovely Ms. Lander sporting a pair of fangs that were donated to her by one of her ardent admirers. I think she sets a great example to the young ladies in Metal and shows them how much good can come from hard work and dedication.

We also caught a brief moment of reflection about gigs past and tuning up for the task at hand with the always cool Miss Tara McLeod. I’ve really enjoyed what she brings to the music of Kittie and I am sure that the bands fans also agree.

Mercedes Lander was also chilling with one of her friends backstage and if memory served me correctly he was “he who makes sure the hair looks its best”. That’s always a good person to have at a show, if you have hair that is worthy of such attention especially.

A Piercing Discussion with Morgan, Mercedes and Tara from Kittie
I didn’t follow Kittie at all when they were starting out since it just wasn’t my thing but over the years that had passed was able to find myself enjoying the way that they do things. The all-girl band was one of the true road warriors for a band of their kind and day to day they face the challenges of being a group on the road trying to make a difference to their fans and for themselves.
The summer of 2007 was in full sway but we secured some time in the bands dressing room backstage at B.B. King Blues Club and as luck would have it I would get to spend time with both Lander Sisters Morgan and Mercedes and guitarist Tara Mcleod as well. Kittie and Dope in Concert (7/2008)
Nu-Metal growlers Kittie and Industrial Metal leaders Dope did a tour together and brought along a couple of interesting Metalcore acts for good measure with Across Five Aprils and A New Revolution. We got there early to be able to feature something about everyone on the stage so if you click the logo below you will be brought to our article on the main PiercingMetal.com site. Photos of all the performers are there as well so dig in.

Backstage with Kittie (2008)
As we mention in the concert review article the venue was sweltering this evening and before Kittie made it hotter we snapped this candid of them downstairs at the Blender Theatre. Pictured from Left to Right are Tara McLeod, Mercedes Lander, Morgan Lander and Ivy Vujic.

The Ladies of Kittie & Derrick "Tripp" Tribbett (2008)
Immediately after I snapped the candid, one of the members of Dope was down there getting ready to go onstage. We all thought it would be funny for the girls to pick him up off the ground for a cool shot and here is the lovely ladies of Kittie and Derek “Tripp” Tribbett. “Tripp” would eventually appear on a horrendous reality show called “Daisy Of Love” that featured Daisy DeLaHoya; a finalist on Bret Michaels “Rock Of Love” romance “reality” show. “DoL” would continue the process with Daisy now on her own quest for love and on the episodes in which Tripp appeared he went by the name “Sinister”. He would not win the competition for Daisy’s heart and place fourth.
Kittie in Concert (8/2007)
Kittie was in NYC once again and we made sure to make their visit a welcome one. To check out words and images from the gig just click their logo below to be brought to our article on the main PiercingMetal.com site.

After the set we secured a few moments of the girls time in order to bring you this group shot of them all together. The stand in male bassist Jeff was no where to be found so we had to do this without him. Sorry dude.
Kittie in Concert (2/2007)
Kittie was hitting NYC with their newest lineup and to make this a killer night had brought along some incredible opening bands. The cold from the streets of NYC were avoided inside the confines of the B.B. King Blues Club tonight as 36 Crazyfists, Dead To Fall, Walls Of Jericho and In This Moment helped make it all the more memorable a night.
