New Year’s Music Resolutions For 2013: Part 8

We are off and running my dear readers in The Metal Republic and while it’s only day two of 2013, this is actually part eight of our “New Year’s Music Resolutions for 2013″ from Metal and Hard Rock greats. Someone asked me why I actually started this just after Christmas, and well the answer is simple….I started them on 12/26 because I wanted to is why :) Being serious, I do it like this to give you readers something new and interesting as the year closes since its generally a dry time for big happenings. It also lets me better space out the responding quotes. Now onto the regularly scheduled program….

1. Mo “Royce” Petersen (Tragedy: Heavy Metal Tribute To The Bee Gees): We resolve to look like Manowar by the end of 2013. (We already sound exactly like them)

2. Addiction For Destruction: Addiction For Destruction are looking forward to on tour over the world in 2013 and releasing a couple of new videos! We want to keep building our international fan base. Train keeps rollin’, stay tuned!

3. Steph Paynes (Lez Zeppelin): That Lez Zeppelin will be invited to play the Isle of Wight Festival, followed by a UK Tour, during which many magickal things will happen…

Lez Zeppelin in Concert (6/28/2012)

The summer heat was blazing down upon New York City and that meant it was best to get inside a venue and enjoy a smoldering Rock show with the comforts of an air-conditioner blowing around you. That made it the perfect reason to go check out the ladies of Lez Zeppelin who were doing a gig over at Abrons Art Center this evening, and since I had never seen anything at the space before I knew this was going to be a special night. Check out some side images and video from the night by scrolling down this post.

Lez Zeppelin in Concert (8/26/2011)

I’ve been enjoying the musical offerings of the ladies in Lez Zeppelin quite a bit this year and have managed to catch them under interesting circumstances each time.  My first foray into what they do came via the acoustic gig that was held at J&R Music World and the second was on one of those Rock and Roll Cruises. Tonight’s gig would really be my first chance to see them in a full on concert venue and despite the hurricane that was apparently heading in our direction and finding the city on pending lock down, I braved the night and heading out there to catch them. Here is how the show went for those who opted to remain inside.

The marquee at Irving is a little tricky to sometimes get properly. For this show I wanted to get the venue name and the bands, so I had to be a little clever. I think I managed.

Here’s another shot that focuses primarily on the bands name.

A Closer Look At The Musical Menu

Before the band came on we heard some Blues and this was the visual on the screen while it was playing. I thought it was pretty cool so I am sharing it with you all.

The band had some nice merchandise available for sale. Take a look at what they were offering their fans for a reasonable amount.

Lez Zeppelin in Concert on the Circle Line (7/15/2011)

I caught the ladies of Lez Zeppelin a few months ago when they were doing an In Store performance at J&R Music World in celebration of their then new release “Lez Zeppelin I” (my review of can be found by clicking that title). I enjoyed the album and this performance greatly but the group had performed acoustically and their drummer was absent due to an injury so I was not really getting the proper picture of the band.  I had a great time but I would really need to see them once again to get the full effect.  My chance would come when I learned from their publicity team that they would be performing on a Circle Line Music Cruise and this would give the fans a night of rocking music along New York City’s incredible skyline.  How could I pass this one up?  You can enjoy the full concert report and images by clicking the logo directly below, but then come on back to the blog post right here to see some additional images that I am only presenting in this location for your enjoyment.

Lez Zeppelin In-Store Appearance @ J&R Music World (4/16/2011)

Record Store Day was upon us once again and that meant the time was nigh to get some great discounts on music releases and for many there is no better place to do this than over at J&R Music World on Park Row in Lower Manhattan.  Over the past couple of years we have found the store hosting special events to up the ante of the already special day and while last year found the boys in ZO2 doing their thing, this year we would get a healthy dose of Rock and Roll courtesy of Lez Zeppelin – the All Female tribute to Led Zeppelin.  To check out my full on concert report of the bands set and photos from the brief but intimate gig, just click their logo below to be taken to the main piece on the PiercingMetal.com website.  Then keep on scrolling down this post to see some of the side images and video that can only be enjoyed here.
