Dream Theater in Concert (8/2007)

You cannot help but be awed by the band Dream Theater who are still delivering quality Progressive Metal after two decades in the business. Their latest album was called “Systematic Chaos” and the tour to support it featured both Redemption and Into Eternity. We made our way to the PNC Bank Arts Center to see it and should you want to know more just click the logo below to be brought to our item on the main PiercingMetal.com site.

In the main concert article I reference how the show while excellent did not seem to draw as many people as I expected for a band of this kind.  Those I mentioned this to did not believe me so I wanted to show exactly what I meant.   I didn’t think this was as much a reflection on the band as much as it was the close of summer and the drawing closer of school as well as their hometown Long Island show taking place only days apart from this one.

We took this photo just before the DT set and really were amazed as we had never seen the venue like this before.

Dream Theater in Concert (4/2006)

It might have been April Fool’s Day, but there was no joke in the realization that Dream Theater was celebrating twenty years together as a Progressive Metal/Rock band. Isn’t that amazing? I think it is and I was happy to be one of the members of the audience for this historic show. The event took place at a sold out Radio City Music Hall and while I felt bad for those who could not get a ticket, the good news was how this event was being recorded and would eventually find its way to both a CD and DVD release. We apologize for not having any photos of this event but we were not able to negotiate any of the usual credentials to do so.

Megadeth & Dream Theater in Concert (8/21/2005): “Gigantour”

The union of Megadeth and Dream Theater on the same stage would be called “Gigantour” and this first go round festival styled event would also call upon Symphony X, Fear Factory, The Dillinger Escape Plan, Life Of Agony, Nevermore, Bobaflex and Drykill Logic to make it an experience not easily forgotten. I would adventure to Upstate NY around the Poughkeepsie way to catch this show at the Mid-Hudson Civic Center and travel with my good friends from the Sea Of Tranquility website. I photographed who were were able to get inside to see and documented as much about the night as possible. James LaBrie in Concert (4/16/2005)

Everyone knows that James LaBrie is the vocal power behind Progressive Metal luminaries Dream Theater but did you know that he also has a bunch of solo material? Well he does and tonight he would be performing one of his three exclusive East Coast shows in support of his “Elements Of Persuasion” album. That is his newest. Believe it or not the closest show for me would be Long Island’s “The Downtown” and I had to wonder why he didn’t settle on a Big Apple date as well. Photos and the concert report can be enjoyed by clicking the logo below. That will take you over to the main PiercingMetal.com website.
