I knew rob only through friends in regina. I am very sad since he had been a part of our social group for over 15 years. I am very sad,he was a very handsome and talented man.

Rob made a LOT of great music, Metalist and Pericardium back in the day and Digital Doomzday and Final Darkness last year. And of course Into Eternity. No need to be put off by that title ‘former Into Eternity’, first of all because he used that himself as you can see on the website, and second because Into Eternity has simply been the most successful of them all and tons of people know him that way.

You seem to be in Regina, so I’m sorry as well as surprised you didn’t learn of his passing until now. It’s been all over the (social) media etc and there was a very impressive memorial service at the Conexus Art Centre on the 25th (and an open jam in his honour at the Distrikt on the 26th) where hundreds of people showed up. Rob left a whole in many hearts, but his music will live on!!

Hello Ken Pierce. I just stumbled across the news of Rob’s death by going to the final darkness website to hear the tracks again. I am devastated too, and a bit put off by the “former Into Eternity guitarist” thing – I didn’t know Rob very well personally, but was a huge fan of Pericardium, the ferocious 3-man, and sometimes 4-man, metal band he led in Regina from at least 1995 to 1998. The Anthems of Anger CD, released in 96 or so, is a monster of a record – have you heard it? Anyhow, I’ll run a tribute to Rob 9-10 Wednesday, May 30 9-10 pm on cjtr 91.3 fm. Best, Ken Foxx

It’s so sad Ken, thanks for the article. Rob decided to leave us all last night. I thought he had left his dark years behind and seemed to be doing well with the new project and all. But apparently he wasn’t doing well at all. Everybody here in Regina is crushed, such a tragic loss :’( But he doesn’t have to fight his demons anymore and I truly hope he has found peace.
