Combining the previously released “iCrusher” volumes 1 and 2 comes “iCrusher Complete” - a mega compilation from one of the main providers of Heavy Metal mayhem – the mighty Earache Records. To many, this label has been known for years as one who brings some of the fiercest and most uncompromising Metal to the attention of the often ravenous underground faithful of the genre. Much of this stuff would never see the likes of those big super Pop oriented labels but who cares when you have Earache on your side if you seek a true crowd-surfing, blood stained mosh pit sort of experience. This double sided DVD offers that fan base some 200 minutes of pummeling Metal that brings to life a number of videos and several bonus audio tracks. Consider it your own extreme version of MTV’s Headbanger’s Ball if you need a clearer picture painted. This is definitely one of those DVD’s that you pop in and have some crazy Metal head friends over to watch with you as the stereo speakers blast it out loud and how can you not do that when you have the likes of Decapitated and Carcass and some old The Haunted tunes to enjoy. Obviously this release focuses on the bands that Earache Records has the rights to as far as material included and we are seeing quite a bit of these kinds of things being released on a more frequent basis. To be honest I don’t really mind that as I was one of those old school Metal fans who used to surf the channels hoping to catch the videos I wanted to preserve forever while the VCR was ever at the ready and for those fans who don’t remember what that device is just know that this was how it was done before DVR and You Tube. I enjoyed most of the music presented here and be advised this is some of the heaviest shit out there so don’t be expecting no “Living On A Prayer” kind of vibe. What I didn’t like was the fact that no booklet came inside with photos or liner notes and the DVD itself has no artwork. It’s just a blank disc which can easily be lost in a pile of others if you are not more careful. Otherwise this is a worthy little addition to the collection especially if you are one of those who love having videos to watch whenever there is free time to do so.
